What's new with John?

No, John's not potty training. This is a Bumbo chair. No, I didn't pick the color. We're borrowing it from our neighbor. It helps babies learn to sit up. We're hoping less time on his back will also help even out his head shape.

He's still a big boy. Last week he weighed in at 17 lbs 12 oz. He is currently wearing a 9 mo. onesie. On average, he wears 6 mo. old clothing.

He spent most of last night showing me how he can can roll over onto his side from laying on his back. I tried to show my excitement, even though I was really hoping to get some sleep.

Lately, he's been trying to do most of his talking with a pacifier in his mouth. It sounds so funny! He's also just started making farting noises with his mouth (such a boy!). Also, there's the never ending battle between him and Brent about sucking on fingers. Brent's constantly replacing John's fingers for a binky.

Memories of a Wonderful Vacation

As most of you know, I've been in WI the last 3 weeks. The following posts highlight some of the excitement of the trip. I had such a fun time and John was able to meet some very special people.

Look Who's Engaged!

I am happy to announce that my sister Angela is engaged to be married July 18th. We are so excited to welcome Ryan into the family. They make such a cute couple.

John's BFF (Best Friend Forever)

Elyse and John became great friends. Elyse taught him her new tricks such as standing and playing with toys. This was the first of many great times they'll share together.

John Meets John

This is John Houdek, one of the many wonderful men we named our son after. He is a close friend to the Parker family. He has been battling cancer for over a year. It was very special that our John was able to meet him. We were able to capture the moment on video (too long to upload onto the blog unfortunately).

Baby's 1st Easter

John and Elyse woke up to a special surprise Easter morning. Terry had given Easter bunnies more than twice their size. They were so cozy. Elyse received a pink one and John a blue one. We got lots of cute pictures.

You Can't Have Too Many Grandparents

Grandma and Grandpa Parker
Great Grandma and Grandpa Quale. Grandma Terry is entertaining the little guy.
Grandma Marilyn with baby Elyse (John's cousin)
Great Grandpa Fischer. He is recovering from heart surgery, so we visited him at the hospital.
